Rufus Wainwright - Going To A Town

Live at Miles Davis Hall - July 5, 2012

Second visit to Montreux for the multiple influenced singer-songwriter: classical, pop, cabaret and even opera. "That's always been my mission," Wainwright said recently "to make albums with variety and a sense of perspective on all that music can be." Eclectic then, but very prolific as well: his next album, Out of the Game, produced by Mark Ronson, will be the seventh from his debut eponymous album released in 1998. (FFJM © 2012)

Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect

Live at Miles Davis Hall - July 7, 2012

English singer Jessie J is combining the vocal prowess of Beyoncé, the genre-hopping sounds of Gwen Stefani, and the feisty attitude of P!nk (Allmusic). She started her musical career very early, being cast at the age of 11 in the production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind. She later found success as a songwriter for such artists as Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus, before releasing her own album Who You Are, for which she was awarded BBC Sound of 2011. (FFJM © 2012)

Buddy Guy - Someone Else Is Steppin' In

Live at Auditorium Stravinski - July 7, 2012

Buddy Guy is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a chief guitar influence to rock legends such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, a pioneer of the Chicago Blues sound and ... a Montreux Jazz Festival favorite (14th concert in 2012)! Ranked thirtieth in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Guy is known for his showmanship on stage: playing his guitar with drumsticks or strolling into the audience while playing solos.(FFJM©2012)

Bastian Baker - Give Me Your Heart

Live at Auditorium Stravinski - June 29, 2012

Only one single was enough for Bastian Baker’s name to be on the tip of everyone’s tongue «Lucky» was immediately adopted and played over and over by Swiss radio stations last year. Claude Nobs was so convinced by a concert he saw in Zermatt that he invited him to perform at Music in the Park in 2011. The concert was a total hit, with the public joining in his songs and ecstatic critics. That was the start of the Bastian Baker phenomenon. The 20-year-old swiss singer songwriter is back to Montreux this year, at the Auditorium Stravinski. (FFJM © 2012)
