Nicola Són was born in Paris, but lived in Brazil for several years until 2018. Since his first album, he has earned the title of “the most Brazilian of French singers” from the Brazilian media.
After a trilogy where he explored the rhythmic particularities of different regions of Brazil, a 4th album – Piaf do Brasil – in the form of a rereading of Edith Piaf’s greatest hits, Nicola Són released “Pas de Panique” in 2023.
Through his compositions and covers, which draw on Brazilian, Latin, jazz, pop and French music, Nicola seeks inspiration beyond the Brazilian music of his first albums, flirting with reggae, cumbia, African music, in a more pop and modern spirit.
Accompanied by the same Brazilian producer, Márcio Arantes (awarded at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2021), who produced his hit “Amanhã já era” – playlist France Inter 2018, Nova Tunes 3.8, FIP, Cosmo in Germany) – Nicola Són has just released a 5th album that is resolutely French, Latin and pop.
