You And The Pop
Founded in 2013 by french guitar and saxo player Romain Fitoussi, You And The Pop is a trio who does covers of the biggest hits of pop music from 70’s to nowadays in an instrumental style that reminds jazz, house music and other intermediate styles. Simultaneously faithful and reappropriated, You And The Pop, makes the wager to play a music both accessible and creative.
If we sense some Daft Punk into jazz, Ray Charles into deep-house or Pixies into electro jazz, the trio mainly revisits all the big hits from “french touch electronic music” like Mojo, Martin Solveig, Daft Punk or Cassius, in their own instrumental jazzy versions, sounds you can’t help but dance to and maybe sing along too.
In the manner of deejaying, You An The Pop’s setlists aren’t planned in advanced. For a better interaction with the public, the trio always consider what next song to play to please the crowd, borders between artists and public are fading away and moving towards a musical communication.
