Workshops, concerts by young Swiss talents, jam sessions: From 12 to 17 October 2020 the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation presents Autumn of Music, a week of musical sparkle at the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace. Every day, free activities will be open to the public.
The workshops will be an opportunity to rub shoulders with Michael League, Justin Stanton and Bill Laurance from the New York collective Snarky Puppy, jazz fusion guitar master John McLaughlin, French drummer and composer Anne Paceo and Franco-American soul-jazz diva China Moses, as well as the Swiss electronic music duo Yello.
SWISS TALENT SPOTLIGHT PRESENTED BY UBS
A new initiative of the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation, Swiss Talent Spotlight presented by UBS showcases six Swiss artists in the early stages of their careers. Multilingual and eclectic, the selection reflects a diverse, fresh and talented Swiss scene. The musicians were selected by the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation and the Montreux Jazz Festival programming teams.
MONTREUX JAZZ ACADEMY
The Montreux Jazz Academy is a residency for musicians based on the transmission and exploration of new artistic approaches. For its 6th edition, the Academy will take place under the musical direction of Michael League, Justin Stanton and Bill Laurance from the New York collective Snarky Puppy and will have as prestigious mentors John McLaughlin, Anne Paceo and China Moses. The free closing concert will be held on Saturday, October 17th.
MUSIC LISTENING SESSIONS
The MJAF and Festival programming team or jazz and vinyl culture enthusiasts offer daily guided listening sessions. The proof in music that beyond the genres, jazz here is above all a state of mind.
At sunset, Fairmont le Montreux Palace’s grand Hall comes alive with jam sessions and their high-flying backing band!
SILENT SHORES POSTER EXHIBITION

The Silent Shores exhibition, presented on the quays of Montreux since July, will take place in the gardens of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace. Produced by the Montreux Jazz Festival official poster designers, this series of original works imagines the shores of Montreux without music.
